LW West JROTC Cadets Selected For Naval Academy Summer Program

More than 5,000 students apply for this position, but only 280 are invited to each session.

NEW LENOX, IL — Two Lincoln-Way West Air Force JROTC freshmen cadets have been selected for the 2019 Naval Academy Summer STEM program in Annapolis, Maryland. The school said Margaret and Madison Randle will head to Maryland this summer.

Summer STEM allows allows students to explore, create, build and expand critical thinking and collaboration skills, all while experiencing world class facilities at a top engineering program, according to the district. More than 5,000 students apply for this position, but only 280 are invited to each session.

“It’s nice to see our cadets take advantage of every opportunity available to them. I’m very proud of these students and anticipate they will represent Lincoln-Way brilliantly through their skills and attitudes,” said MSgt Schliffka.
