Man Who Urinated On Movie Patrons Faces 2 Felonies: Complaint
Samuel Vigil is accused of urinating on two women inside the AMC Showplace in New Lenox on Jan. 14.

NEW LENOX, IL - It may qualify as the most repulsive crime of Will County for the month of January. A 20-year-old man from Joliet, Samuel Vigil, drove to New Lenox on Jan. 14 to attend a late night movie showing at the AMC Showplace. Inside the dark theater, while the rest of the crowd was captivated by the action on the screen, Vigil stood up and began urinating on the people seated in front of him, according to the criminal complaint. The New Lenox Police Department was summoned to the theater in the 1300 block of West Maple Avenue, and officers arrested Vigil although he was released on bond.
On Thursday, Feb. 15, the Will County State's Attorney's Office filed not just one but two aggravated battery charges against Vigil. Both are felonies. The criminal complaint states that Vigil "knowingly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature ... at AMC Showplace ... in that said defendant urinated on (two women)."
A Will County arrest warrant was issued Thursday for Vigil's apprehension.
