Mayor: Cooper's Hawk, Pete's Fresh Market Rolling Along
New Lenox Patch met with Mayor Baldermann last week at the construction sites off Route 30.

NEW LENOX, IL - There's lots to be excited about in New Lenox these days. One of the community's biggest development projects in recent years is now quite far along. Mayor Tim Baldermann said that the Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurants remains in schedule to open in late October or the early part of November.
"We're excited to have Cooper's Hawk moving as quickly as it is, on schedule for sure," Baldermann said last Thursday. "It's a great addition to our town. This, of course, was the No. 1 ask of our residents for so many years and Cooper's Hawk has been so great to work with."
The project created a lot of construction jobs in New Lenox as well as a number of permanent jobs once the upscale winery opens for business. "It's a big win for New Lenox," the mayor said. "We're already getting calls, people asking if Cooper's Hawk is taking reservations for parties and events so people are really excited."

A short distance away, site work is underway on the future home of the Pete's Fresh Market.
Last October, when the village announced the mega-development project along Route 30 near the LA Fitness and Five Guys restaurant, New Lenox officials were under the impression the investors were still trying to land a third tenant for the site.

However, Baldermann told New Lenox Patch that those plans have changed. The development will now consist of the two main tenants, Cooper's Hawk and Pete's.
"Pete's is a great option for New Lenox," the mayor said. "We've got a lot of good grocery store options, something we didn't have in the past. Pete's brings something different. It's a different type of market to our community. People are really excited about it and we're certainly glad to see them. They're slated for a spring of 2020 opening.
"They're getting their site pad ready now before the winter comes and they'll be working next spring. We'll probably see the building up in the fall of next year. They actually have expanded. They were looking at having maybe 5,000 to 10,000 square feet of something different, but they've expanded the size of their store to provide every available option. We're excited to have Pete's out here next to Cooper's Hawk."
