In New Lenox, one of the contested local races is the race for village trustee.

NEW LENOX, IL — The upcoming election is less than a month away, and early voting has already begun. In New Lenox, one of the contested local races is the race for village trustee. There are three open spots on the board in the upcoming election on April 2. Doug Finnegan is one of the four candidates running for a position.
Finnegan was first appointed as village trustee in 2015. He has a business degree in finance from the University of Iowa. He is also a Vice President producing area manager for a mortage company, and has 29 years of experience in the industry.
Finnegan said he believes the most pressing issue facing the board is infrastructure. Old water mains need to be replaced, and the wastewater treatment plan needs to be built on time and within budget, he said.

"As a trustee on the current board, we've been able to have tremendous residential and commercial growth with minimal impact to our residents," Finnegan said. "Also, our fiscal responsibility is something I've very proud of. Moody's is currently raising our bond rating (again). Our reserves are above suggested levels and we are still rebating property taxes to village residents."
Finnegan said as a current board member he has proven leadership with proven results.
