Muggle Mania! Harry Potter Release Events in New Lenox
AMC Showplace 14 in New Lenox will debut its new IMAX screen in conjunction with the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. II" on Thursday evening.

In celebration of the finale of the most successful motion picture franchise of all time, the in New Lenox is debuting its new IMAX screen Friday evening in conjunction with the release of the final chapter of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Potter movies, based on the best-selling books by J.K. Rowling.

Wednesday, July 13: Marcus Theatres in Orland Park will be hosting a marathon of all Potter movies starting Wednesday and running through the midnight premiere on Thursday.
Thursday, July 14: AMC will carry paid showings of Deathly Hallows—Part 1 at 9 p.m. Thursday, and that will be followed by the midnight premiere of Deathly Hallows—Part 2.

Friday, July 15: From 5-7 p.m., the theater, located at 1320 W. Maple St., is hosting a grand opening celebration for the new IMAX screen. Dress as your favorite character from Harry Potter and come for prizes, giveaway and a "potions and spells" demonstration by Mad Science Chicago.
Saturday, July 16: The is hosting a "Day on Diagon Alley" for people between sixth and 12th grade. The event is from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the library, and it'll feature crafts, games, activities and raffles. The library encourages attendees to dress as a character from the series. The event is already full, but you can register on the library's website in case others cancel.
