New Denim Boutique Offers Private Shopping Parties

The Moody Blues Jeans Boutique opens fashion doors with new ideas.

In some ways, the new Moody Blues Jean Boutique is just like other retail shops. It has great fashion, range of prices, stunning displays and regular store hours.

What makes Moody Blues different, beside the high-end fashion, is the shopping parties. Women – or men – can open the store after hours and on Sundays for a private shopping party at discounted prices.

A group of six or more would receive an additional 10 percent off. The hostess would earn 10 percent commission toward free clothing.

For owner Kathy Wilda, this just made sense. She started her business selling denim out of her home. Now, shopping is an excuse for a party or a girls night – or just a way to save money.

Even though the top designer brands are Miss Me, Silver and Rock Revival, Wilda says the shop offers a complete kids line sizes 6 to 14. It also features a men's line and women's clothing up to size 20.

Another unique aspect to this shop over some of the retail chains is the personal selection. Each item is personally hand-picked, and there are no more than 12 pieces of anything.

"So you're not going to have everyone walking around town with the same shirt," she explained.

Although the selection features high-end fashion, prices start at $5 for earrings. Denim ranges from $48 up to the most expensive item in the shop, which is a pair of jeans for $168. The store will feature ever-changing sales and discounts.

For example, anyone who missed the 20 percent off grand opening, you can still take advantage of the $10 off each pair of denim throughout March. To keep up with the sales, like the Facebook page, Moody Blues Jean Boutique.

The store is located at 324 Alana Drive, off Vine Street in New Lenox. Hours are Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call 815- 462-4144.
