New Lenox Approves $2.9 Million 2019 Tax Levy

In October, the board also approved a 2019 property tax refund program for the village's portion of 2018 taxes.

NEW LENOX, IL — At its Dec. 9 meeting, the New Lenox village board approved the 2019 tax levy. The 2019 tax levy will be $2,968,842, board documents state.

The levied funds are broken down below:

  • IMRF tax, $784,000
  • Social security, $739,920
  • Police pension, $1,444,922

In October, the board also approved a 2019 property tax refund program. The board approved to refund 80 percent of the village's portion of the 2018 property taxes (which were paid in 2019). A property owner living in a single-family home, townhome, condominium unit or apartment unit within a building they own can get a refund.

You can learn more about receiving a refund on the village website. Applications for a refund are due Dec. 31.
