New Lenox Building Permits Reveal Lots Of Growth In 2017
One of the signature construction projects is occurring at Cedar Road and Otto Drive.

NEW LENOX, IL - There's a reason why New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann often refers to the village of New Lenox as Will County's fastest growing community. It's because he has the data to prove it. And capitalizing on that momentum, New Lenox recently announced plans to land a Cooper's Hawk restaurant and a Pete's Fresh Market. The new businesses are poised to be built along East Lincoln Highway near the LA Fitness and Five Guys restaurant.
With the Cooper's Hawk project dominating the recent headlines, it's easy to overlook everything else that's been going on around in the community. New Lenox Patch recently obtained a tally of building permit totals from the past year, both residential and commercial properties. The village data reinforces New Lenox's contention that it's a community on the upswing. More and more people are moving to New Lenox, particularly from southern Cook County, village officials note.
"The village board and I made some very conscious decisions in terms of impact fees and marketing our community that we hope would pay off," Baldermann told Patch on Sunday night. "We're seeing tremendous residential and commercial growth despite the economy just starting to improve."
