New Lenox Chamber Of Commerce Plans Halloween Fest

Event highlights include trunk-or-treat, pumpkin art party, haunted egg hunt and the annual costume contest.

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Halloween Fest from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The event will take place in New Lenox Village Commons.

The chamber said event highlights include a performance by the Liberty Junior High and Alex M. Martino Junior High bands, trunk-or-treat, pumpkin art party, haunted egg hunt and the annual costume contest.

The chamber said the Halloween Fest coloring contest is already underway, and entries will be displayed at the New Lenox Public Library during the fest. The contest is open to children ages 3 - 12, and winners will be contacted Oct. 28. To enter, complete the coloring sheet and return it to the New Lenox Chamber of Commerce or the New Lenox Public Library on or before Wednesday.

Entry forms are available at the New Lenox Public Library, New Lenox Village Hall, LincolnWay Community Bank, or online at www.newlenoxchamber.com.

The popular costume contest will start at 2 p.m. on the Village Commons stage at the fest. Contest categories include: birth-2, ages 3-4, grades K-2, grades 3-5, grades 6-8, and family/group. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded to each category. The first place winners will compete for overall best and take home the grand prize.
