New Lenox Chamber to Honor Area Businesses and Residents at the 2015 Annual Dinner Celebration

The chamber will honor Business of the Year, Partner of the Year, and Lifetime Chamber Award winners.

The New Lenox Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Dinner Celebration on Thursday, January 29, at the VFW Post 9545, 323 Old Hickory Rd., New Lenox. Cocktails start at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. and award presentations following. Honorees include 2014 Business of the Year: Presense Saint Joseph Medical Center, 2014 Chamber Partner of the Year: New LenoxPublic Library, and 2014 Lifetime Chamber Award: Dan Martin, Public Safety Division Chief of the New Lenox Police Department.

Business of the Year: Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center

Announced at the Chamber’s Holiday Party, Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center is the 2014 recipient of the Chamber’s most prestigious award, Business of the Year. Presence has been a member of the New Lenox Chamber since 2003 and in 2014 sponsored a number of Chamberevents, including the Valedictorian sponsor for the Chasing the Sun 5K Race and Fitness Walk. Presence also worked hard to serve the community and the residents of New Lenox through partnerships with New Lenox Safe Communities America Coalition and ShareFest. The hospital also partnered to sponsors a number of other community events such as Ladies Night Out and Proud American Days.

Partner of the Year: New Lenox Public Library

2014 marks the second Partner of the Year award, honoring a non-profit organization that has worked alongside the Chamber in support its mission and members. The 2014 recipient is the New Lenox Public Library. The Chamber and Library joined forces in 2014 to present a variety ofnew programming targeted at the New Lenox business community, including Business Leader Workshops and the Business Leaders Book Discussion Club. The Library also assisted in hosting the Chamber’s 47th Annual Halloween Fest. The Chamber and its Board are thankful for the partnership and support the New Lenox Public Library offered throughout 2014 as we strive to bring valuable educational programming and opportunities to the Chamber membership.

Lifetime Chamber Award: Dan Martin, Public Safety Division Chief, NLPD

Dan Martin has lived and served the New Lenox community for 10 years with his wife, Maureen and their two children, Jake and Shannon. As the Public Safety Division Chief of the New Lenox Police Department, Dan works tirelessly to help ensure the safety of New Lenox residents. Additionally, through his work and leadership of New Lenox Safe Communities America Coalition, CERT, Medical Reserve Core and the Search and Rescue Team, Dan’s dedication to the New Lenox community is remarkable. Dan has also been instrumental in helping New Lenox receive the Governor’s Home Town award for four consecutive years, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. The Chamber, its Board and the Lifetime ChamberAward Selection Committee are honored to present Dan Martin with this award for his commitment, leadership and positive influence to the NewLenox Community.

Additional highlights of the evening will include recognition of our outgoing Board Member, Sandra DeLair of Tim Hartnell COUNTRY Financial,Chamber membership anniversaries, silent auction and annual grand raffle.
