New Lenox Community Band Begins Summer Concert Series
The New Lenox Community Band is gearing up to present its first concert of the season, “An American in Paris.” The concert will take place on Sunday June 7th at the beautiful New Lenox Performing Arts Pavilion. The concert will begin at 7pm. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair! The all-French program will include selections by Saint-Saens, Ravel and Ticheli, and will include Gershwin’s “An American in Paris.” Admission to the concert is FREE, and concessions are available for purchase.
The New Lenox Community Band is in its 10th season. The 55-piece concert band is comprised of adults from New Lenox and over 16 of the surrounding communities. Members of the band come from many different professions: teachers and administrators, doctors, engineers, therapists, machinists, and students. Rehearsals for the band take place on Sundays throughout the summer at Lincoln-Way West High School, in New Lenox. The band is under the direction of Daniel Romano and Cary Ruklic.
