A Sauk Village teen was jailed in connection with a violent sneaker ripoff at a New Lenox McDonald’s.

Abel Recendiz, 18, was locked up on charges of robbery and theft Thursday.

Recendiz and an unidentified man brokered a deal to buy two pair of Air Jordans that had been advertised on Facebook, police said. Recendiz and the shoe seller agreed to meet at the McDonald’s on West Maple Street the morning of May 14.
