New Lenox D122 Offers 5-Day In-Person Or Remote Learning

Families will be able to choose between two options: in-person learning 5 days a week or remote learning.

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox School District 122 board of education has approved the district's Return to Learn plan. According to the plan, families will be able to choose between full-time in-person learning or full-time remote learning.

"Please be aware that an increase in infections could result in school closures, in which case all students would shift from in-person to state mandated remote learning," Superintendent Lori Motsch wrote in a letter to the community.

The Return to Learn plan also includes an iPad for all students, no matter which option is chosen.

Face masks will be required except while eating and during band, according to the plan. Students and staff will be provided with one cloth mask and disposable masks will be provided for those who forget a mask.

If a parent chooses to enroll their child in the full-time remote learning option, they must complete a district survey by July 26. If you commit to remote learning, you must commit for the entire first trimester.
