New Lenox Honors 4-Year-Old With Key To The Village
Ivy Kimble, a New Lenox resident, was chosen out of hundreds of children to appear in the American Girl magazine holiday spread.

NEW LENOX, IL — Mayor Tim Baldermann and the Village Board honored a 4-year-old New Lenox resident Monday by presenting her with a key to the village.
The board recognized Ivy Kimble, who was chosen out of hundreds of children to appear in the American Girl magazine holiday spread.
Ivy, who has Down syndrome, also appeared on the cover of a November issue of the magazine.

Baldermann said this is the third time a key to the village has been presented, and Ivy is the youngest resident to receive a key.
"Ivy made world headlines by being a model in the American Girl Doll holiday catalog," Baldermann said.

"Your community is such a great place for kids of all abilities, adults of all abilities," Ivy's mom, Kristin Kimble, said at the meeting. "I get so proud when I go into businesses and I see people employed of every ability, every walk of life. It makes me so grateful for the opportunities that are in this town."
