New Lenox Kmart Safe Despite National Closings
The Hoffman Estates-based Sears Holding Corp. announced last week that it will shut down as many as 120 stores across the country, but none from Illinois.

A list was released Thursday of the 80 Kmart and Sears stores that will close, but none is in Illinois.
The Sears Holding Corp. is based in Hoffman Estates, and was recently promised $15 million in tax breaks to remain in Illinois. Although no Illinois stores were on the list, the company said the list of stores would be updated and could include up to 120 total.
