New Lenox Lightning Softball Team Completes Dominant Season
The 10-and-under fast-pitch softball team was recognized for its 68-6 season during the Sept. 26 Village Board meeting.
The New Lenox Lightning 10-and-under softball team was honored for a fantastic season during the Sept. 26 Village Board meeting.
Packing the right side of the Village Hall chamber on Monday, team members and coaches for the fast-pitch softball team were called to stand before the board in celebration of their 68-6 season.
“It was an honor to coach these young ladies," coach Bob Gedville said. "It was a magical season.”

The magic included a 33-game win streak, victories in 11 of 12 tournaments the team entered and a No. 9 national ranking after a tournament in Johnson City, TN.
Besides Gedville, the team is coached by Jon Swets and Rob LeMonier. The team members are Abby Baez, Gabby Gedville, Abby Garcia, Taylor Herschbach, Ella LeMonier, Kaitlin Lynch, Mackenzie Mahy, Rachel Martinez, Tara McElligott, Taylor Schingler, Ashley Swets and Madison Tucker.
