New Lenox Man Jailed on Christmas Eve For Allegedly Pushing Cop

The New Lenox man was on probation for a drug conviction at the time of his arrest.

A New Lenox man spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day—and also the day after that—in jail for allegedly pushing a cop.

Brandon Koniuszy, 21, was charged with aggravated battery in connection with an early Wednesday morning incident at his Palmer Ranch Drive home, police said.

An officer reportedly went over to the residence to investigate a “domestic dispute.”

“While attempting to resolve the dispute, Koniuszy pushed the officer and resisted arrest,” police said.

Koniuszy was also charged with resisting police. He remained in custody at the Will County jail Friday. He was being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

At the time of his arrest, Koniuszy was on probation for a drug conviction. He was arrested by the New Lenox police in February on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, and again in March on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. The controlled substance in both cases was allegedly the anti-anxiety medication alprazolam.

Koniuszy pleaded guilty in October and was sentenced to two years probation, according to court records.
