New Lenox Man Sought For Violating Court Order Caught Holding Heroin: Cops

The New Lenox man landed in the Will County jail.

A report of a domestic disturbance led to the arrest of a New Lenox man caught holding heroin, police said.

Kenneth Peterson, 20, was charged with the possession of a controlled substance and violating of an order of protection.

An officer investigating a report of a domestic disturbance on South Prairie Road shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday learned a man there had argued “with Peterson and Peterson’s girlfriend,” police said. Peterson and the girlfriend were gone by the time the officer got there.

The man told the officer “there was an active order protection against Peterson ... which he was in violation of,” police said.

The law reportedly tracked down Peterson near the corner of Route 30 and Spencer Road. Officers found the heroin on him when they took him into custody, police said.

Peterson was booked into the Will County jail. His bond was set at $25,000 and he remains in custody.
