New Lenox Man Spotted Sneaking Into Neighbor's House & Stealing Cash: Cops

A New Lenox woman spotted a neighbor slipping into her home and stealing cash, police said.

The neighbor, 23-year-old Michael Ferreira of 512 Livingston Drive, was arrested and jailed on charges of burglary and residential burglary.

A police officer was sent to the woman’s Foxhill Court residence and met with her there shortly after 11 a.m. Monday.

The woman told the officer “she observed Ferreira enter her residence without her permission and (steal) cash,” police said.

Ferreira remains in the Will County jail. He is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond.
