New Lenox Plans Annual Loyalty Day Parade

The parade is sponsored by the VFW Post 9545 of New Lenox and will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. May 5.

NEW LENOX, IL —New Lenox will host its annual Loyalty Day Parade on May 5. The parade is sponsored by the VFW Post 9545 of New Lenox and will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. According to New Lenox Police, the parade starts at the Lions Den (Old Library) on South Cedar, proceeds north on Cedar, west on Haven, north on Veterans Parkway to the Veterans Memorial on the New Lenox Commons.

Access to the parade route will be controlled started at 12:30 p.m. Police said affected residents near the parade route will be allowed access to their homes prior to the start of the parade as safety permits. As the parade passes, affected roads will be opened.

There will be no parking along Haven Avenue, South Cedar Road, Roy Street and Veterans Parkway after 8 a.m. on parade day. Police said citizens needing access to the New Lenox Police Department near and during parade time should take the following route: Route 30, south on Veterans Parkway, east on Independence, to the police department as directed by officers posted in that area.
