New Lenox Police Arrest Country Club Hills Man For ID Fraud
Tolbert Windham is being charged with two felonies.

NEW LENOX, IL - Rarely a week goes by in New Lenox without one of this community's nearly 26,000 residents lodging a complaint with police about being a victim of an identity theft. But if you think the New Lenox Police Department just sits around and writes up a report and then does nothing, you're mistaken. On Thursday afternoon, New Lenox police arrested Tolbert Windham, a 38-year-old resident of Country Club Hills. Windham currently faces a pair of felonies, one accusing him of possessing a fake ID card and the other accuses him of committing identity theft.
Windham was detained at the Will County jail at 2:30 p.m. Thursday and on Saturday, at 3 a.m., he came up with the required 10 percent bail of his $25,000 bond. That means Windham will remain free while his criminal charges are pending at the Will County Courthouse.
Patch plans to follow up with New Lenox police on Monday for more information about the circumstances of how Windham was caught.
