New Lenox Police Department Hiring Entry Level Officers

NEW LENOX, IL — The New Lenox Police Department is hiring entry level police officers, seeking to fill 1-3 immediate openings.

The department will also build an eligibility register for future hiring needs. Applications are available now through Sept. 16, 2 p.m. The deadline to submit is Sept. 16 by 4 p.m.

Starting salary is $74,614.02. Some requirements include: applicants must be a U.S. citizen; have a valid driver's license; be at least 21 (or 20 if they have completed two years of law enforcement study) and under 35; must have proof of high school diploma, GED certificate or high school proficiency statement. There is no residency requirement.

An application fee of $25 is non-refundable, and the application can be found online.

Hard copies of the application are required and can be mailed through services such as USPS, UPS, or FedEx, or hand-delivered by the applicant, family members, or friends.

Applications are to be placed in the secured black mailbox next to the office door between the hours 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Applicants must attend a mandatory orientation and test date Sunday, Oct. 4 at Lincoln-Way Central High School, 1801 E. Lincoln Highway.

Physical and written examination will immediately follow the orientation.
