New Lenox Police Salaries: $100,000 Or More

NEW LENOX, IL - One of the most fundamental roles of journalists is to bring transparency to local government. After all, when it comes to government and public schools, the overwhelming majority of your tax dollars are spent on salaries and employee fringe benefits.

Over the past year, Patch has produced numerous articles examining the public salaries for the city of Joliet employees, Will County Sheriff's Department plus the highest salaries in Joliet Township High School District 204. This latest installment, a two-part series, examines the highest salaries in the village of New Lenox.

This article focuses on New Lenox's Police Department. The second installment, which will be published sometime next week, will examine the top salaries at New Lenox Village Hall.

For the New Lenox Police Department:

There were a total of 43 different people who worked at the police department at one point or another last year. Some may have started or left mid-year.

Here's a breakdown by the numbers of the pay brackets for gross wages:
