New Lenox Resident Kevin Carter Finds Himself Back In Jail

Carter was taken into custody Tuesday and the court has ordered him held without bond.

NEW LENOX, IL - Long-time New Lenox resident Kevin B. Carter Jr. finds himself starting the new year on the wrong foot with the Will County criminal justice system. On Tuesday, the 38-year-old resident of the 200 block of Locust Lane was processed at the Will County Adult Detention Facility. Court records indicate that Carter had been picked up by the Lockport Police Department in September on a charge of driving on a revoked license. A review of online court records indicates Carter pleaded guilty in late November, and he all was set to appear before a Will County judge for his sentencing hearing on Tuesday but the court determined the "defendant is not in compliance after submitting to drug testing."

As a result, his sentencing got delayed, Carter's bond got revoked, and he was ordered to remain inside the county jail. Court records indicate Carter will undergo another drug test on Thursday, January 4.

For Carter, the Will County Jail is hardly unfamiliar territory. He has been a visitor of the facility off-and-on, on multiple occasions over the past decade.
