New Lenox Runners Hit Southwest Half Marathon

The First Midwest Bank Southwest Half Marathon brought almost 2,000 runners to Palos Heights and Palos Park, and at least 54 of them were from New Lenox.

Of the 54 New Lenox residents listed in the race results, Michael Blake finished with the best time, 1:29:50, which was good for 58th place overall and seventh best in his division, men age 45 to 49.

The top female finisher from New Lenox was Vanessa Andrews, who placed 94th overall with a time of 1:35:42. That was sixth-best in her division, women age 25 to 29.
