Village Commons will be jam-packed for these groups. You can take that to the bank.

NEW LENOX, IL - New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann has done it again. The village has finalized this summer's enormously popular Triple Play concert series, now entering its 11th year. The lineup will feature Cheap Trick on Saturday, June 8. The following month will feature Joan Jett on Saturday, July 20. To close out the Triple Play will be Kenny Loggins on Saturday, Aug. 31.

Tickets for the Triple Play will go on sale at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 30 at Village Hall. New Lenox residents pay a grand total of $75 to see all three music acts.

Last summer's Triple Play featured Melissa Etheridge, Bruce Hornsby and Chris Isaak.

Mayor Baldermann told Patch that he expects this year's lineup will draw even more excitement.

"I think most people will be very happy that we're returning to that great music of the 70s and 80s," Baldermann told Patch. "We're thrilled to have all of these artists."

Getting Loggins to play in New Lenox will be sweet news to many people. A few years back, Baldermann said, Loggins was scheduled to play at the concert series, only to have the show rained out. "Many people have been asking us to bring him back," Baldermann told Patch.

The Triple Play summer concert series takes place at the New Lenox Village Commons, which can accommodate 5,000 people.
