NL Rebels 13U White baseball team takes 2nd place in Wisconsin Dells tournament

New Lenox Rebels 13U White baseball team took home the silver at the Game Day USA Waterpark Capital City Classic tournament in Wisconsin Dells June 3-5th.

The Rebels White started the tournament off strong with a 17-2 win against the Barrington Firehawks. The offense was commanding with everyone crossing the plate. Josh Jurka helped the cause with an RBI single and came in to pitch shutting down the Firehawks’ bats, allowing no runs in relief.

The only loss in pool play for Rebels White came in a close game against the TCT/Bison Baseball squad. The Rebels lost 10-9 despite 9 team hits, including a double by Tyler Jones and hits from Ryan McDonald and Trent Rodriguez.

The outcome was better for Rebels White when they met TCT/Bison Baseball again in the semi-finals. The Rebels came out on top 7-5. An all-around team effort helped the Rebels advance to the Championship game. Jeremy Kolinek had a hot bat, hitting a double and a single to help seal the win for the Rebels.

The Championship game pitted the Rebels against Iowa’s Muscatine Cardinals. The Rebels lost 15-11 despite an amazing offense. Hits by Anthony Wasowicz, Patrick Kale, and Jacob Jurka sparked the offense highlighted by a bases-clearing triple by Tyler Misch and a 3-run homer by Quinn McGuire.

Brett Dudek’s trusty bat produced 6 RBIs on 4 singles and 3 doubles in the tournament. Nathan Durling had a spectacular tournament going 9-14 with 8 singles and a double.

Under the leadership of coaches Dan Jurka, Rob Kale, Tim Kolinek, and Nick Misch, 13U Rebels White had a great tournament and a fun weekend.
