No Tricks, Just NuMark Credit Union Treats for Local Teachers

Joliet, IL – November 13, 2014 – In celebration of their 60th Anniversary NuMark Credit Union held a Random Act of Kindness event at Laraway Elementary School in Joliet and Rockdale Elementary School in Rockdale. NuMark Credit Union surprised teachers with $10 visa gift cards on Friday, October 31st during a staff meeting.

“We know teachers spend quite a bit of money out of pocket for classroom expenses,” says Aaron Heldt, Marketing Specialist. “We wanted to surprise teachers, show our appreciation and give them the opportunity to treat themselves.”

NuMark Credit Union caught many teachers off guard when they made their exciting announcement of their random act of kindness.

“When we were first told about the gift, it took a minute to set in because we usually focus all of our energies on the children and being sure they have a safe, fun, and educational day,” said Jessica Barwa, Rockdale Elementary Teacher. “It is a rare gift to have the personal funds we spend on our classes acknowledged in this way.”

“I was shocked and delighted to get a gift! It is so nice to be noticed and appreciated for all the hard work teachers put forth,” said Joanna Jolly, Laraway Elementary Teacher.

NuMark Credit Union is open to the public. Any person who lives or works in their geographic area is eligible to join. Persons who work for one of their Select Employer Groups or family members of current members are also eligible to join.
