Nurse Punched At Silver Cross Hospital: Cops

Three charged with warrants, retail theft suspect caught at Walmart two days later, damage found at liquor store: New Lenox Police Reports.

The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Battery

An officer was dispatched to Silver Cross Hospital at 12:26 p.m. on June 9 in reference to a battery complaint. The nurse complainant advised that they were treating a patient when the patient struck them with a closed fist.

Warrant Arrest

Alan V. Tietz, 30, of the 2000 block of Sanford was charged on a warrant at 4:23 p.m. on June 9 at the New Lenox Police Department. An officer was dispatched to the NLPD in reference to a subject with an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The officer met with Tietz, who advised that he had a warrant for his arrest. The officer confirmed the warrant.

Todd W. Cheney, 38, of the 500 block of Alan Drive was charged on a warrant at 5:53 p.m. on June 11 at Route 30 and I-80. An officer was on patrol and conducted a random registration check on a vehicle. The officer learned that the registered owner of the vehicle, Cheney, had an outstanding Will County Warrant for his arrest for a traffic offense. The officer observed that the driver of the vehicle matched the descriptors of Cheney and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The officer confirmed that the driver was Cheney and that the warrant was valid.

Tony J. Zamecnic, 23, of the 100 block of Hickory was charged on a warrant at 5:34 p.m. on June 12 at the New Lenox Police Department. An officer was dispatched to the NLPD in reference to a subject turning himself in on an outstanding Will County Warrant. The officer met with Zamecnik and confirmed that he had a valid outstanding warrant.

Criminal Damage to Property

An officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Bristol Lane at 9:55 p.m. on June 11 in reference to a criminal damage to property complaint. The complainant advised that someone damaged their lawn.

Retail Theft / Criminal Trespass to Property

Edgar Budrevicius, 24, of the 100 block of Forest Street was charged with retail theft at 1:42 a.m. on June 13. An officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a retail theft. The officer met with the complainant and learned that Budrevicius had stolen cans of beers from the store. Two days later, Burdrevicius was charged with criminal trespass to property after a patrol officer allegedly observed him at Walmart.

Attempted Burglary

An officer was dispatched to Village Liquor Mart in reference to a burglar alarm at 2:45 a.m. on June 13. Upon arrival the officer discovered a damage to the front door and a broken window as well. No entry to the business was made.

Criminal Damage to Property

An officer was dispatched to the 2900 block of Brett Drive in reference to criminal damage to property at 10:20 a.m. on June 13. The complainant advised that someone attempted to steal the air conditioning unit from a home under construction and damaged wires in the process.

Battery

Lionel D. James, 21, Park Forest was charged with battery at 7 p.m. on June 13 at the LA Fitness on Lincoln Highway. An officer was dispatched to the LA Fitness in reference to a disturbance on the basketball court. The complainant advised that he was punched in the face by James during a basketball game. The victim sustained a broken tooth as a result of the punch. James was taken into custody.

Speeding/DUI

Thomas E. Robinson, 58, Joliet was charged with speeding, DUI and driving while license revoked at 11:47 p.m. on June 15 at Route 30 and Gougar Road. An officer was on patrol and observed a vehicle speeding. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and learned that the driver, Robinson, was under the influence of alcohol. The officer also learned that Robinson’s driver’s license was revoked. Robinson was taken into custody.
