Dolores Ann Lehner, age 73, of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 25, 2026 at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.She was born on January 4, 1953 in Chicago, IL, to the late Joseph and Dolores (nee Spagnolo) Pintozzi.
Dolores was born and raised as a proud Italian in Chicago, where she developed the strong values of faith, family, and hard work that would guide her throughout her life. After marrying the love of her life, Jerome Lehner, they made their home in Leyden Township, where together they raised their family during 27 years of marriage. A devoted homemaker, Dolores created a home that was always warm, welcoming, and filled with love. She was an exceptional cook whose stuffed peppers became a treasured family favorite. A woman of deep Christian faith, she found comfort and strength in reading her Bible and living her life with grace and compassion.

Dolores also took great joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved decorating her home for every holiday, laughing along to "Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer" during the Christmas season, spending time reading, coloring, working on puzzles, and challenging family members to a game of Scrabble. She enjoyed shopping and browsing stores, never passing up the chance to find something special.She could often be found relaxing with classic television shows, especially Everybody Loves Raymond. Dolores took pride in always looking her best, with her hair done, her nails polished, and a cute outfit to match.
Above all else, she treasured her family. No matter how she was feeling physically, she was always present for the people she loved most, creating memories through her unwavering love, quiet strength, and joyful spirit. Her family will forever remember her kindness, her faith, her delicious cooking, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
Dolores is survived by her loving children, Francis (Thomika) Lehner, Joya Lehner, and Anne (Karl) Lehner; her devoted grandchildren, Sheila, Jack, Thomas, Lucy, Hannah, David, Richard, Madison, Alana, Aiden, Jeffrey, Joya, Kale, Jazmine, and Alayla; adoring great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Rosa Bella, David, Zavier, Gianni, and Josiah; dear sisters, Francesca Ragano, June Calabrese, and Lisa Podraza; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph (Ann) Pintozzi and Dolores (Ricardo) Rizzi, and her husband, Jerome Lehner.
As it was Dolores’s request, cremation rites have been accorded.A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held by the family at a later date.Arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Joliet, IL.
