Kathleen A. Wynard, age 77, a resident of New Lenox, formerly of Galena, IL passed away peacefully on, November 10, 2021, with her family at her side.

Kathy was born September 17, 1944, in Chicago, IL to the late John and Mary Ellen Strong. She grew up in Cicero, IL, and graduated from Morton East High School, Class of 1962.

She loved riding her horses and caring for her dogs. She enjoyed creating quilts and sewing. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and all that the season offered. Kathy cherished the time she spent with her family, especially during their Friday night dinners and family game nights.

Survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert T. Wynard;

Her loving children, Tricia “Dish” Eshleman, Kevin (Tammy) Wynard,

Rev. Daniel (Rev. Lucy) Wynard and Kelly Haushahn; adoring grandma to Megan (Tom) Schadel, Jonathan (Ariel), Teddy, Katey, Travis, Lexi, Eric, and Adam; great-grandma to Josie; dear sister of Judy (Bill) Gallagher, Patricia Oberg, Joanna Strong, and Matthew (Vicki)Strong. Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive.

Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marilyn Strong; brother-in-law, Gerald Oberg; and nephew, Tim Oberg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to your local animal rescue or adopt a family in need this Christmas in her honor.

Memorial Visitation for Kathleen A. Wynard will be Tuesday, November 23, 2021, 2:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 3:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 353 N. Midland Ave., Joliet, IL As it was Kathy’s wish, cremation rites have been accorded. Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Joliet is entrusted with services.
