Oktoberfest Dinner With New Lenox Area Historical Society

All-You-Can-Eat Homemade German Dinner!

An Oktoberfest sponsored by the New Lenox Area Historical Society will take place Wednesday, October 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Harry E. Anderson VFW Hall, 323 Old Hickory Road, New Lenox.

Enjoy a relaxing evening among friends and neighbors while dining on delicious “all you can eat” German dinner of bratwurst, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, applesauce, bread and luscious cake by Fleckenstein’s Bakery. Hot dogs will also be available. This year’s theme highlights the old New Lenox train depot.

Come early to buy homemade baked goods and bring home a bargain from the silent auction. An exciting variety of silent auction items have been donated by local businesses and friends of the Historical Society.

The dinner/auction is one of the key events the Society sponsors to help raise funds for the preservation of Schmuhl School and ongoing student programs held at the school. Schmuhl is a “working school” where many New Lenox and other schools spend “A Day In The Life Of A One-Room Schoolhouse”.

Carry-outs are available. Tickets can be purchased in advance from any Historical Society member or at the door. Adults are $15.00, children under 10 years, $5.00 and less than 3 years are free. For tickets and information please call 815-485-5576.
