senior Conor Bartuch has dedicated his life to soccer.

That might seem like a strong statement for a 17-year-old, but he's been playing the game since he was just 5. Back then, Bartuch was learning how to count and write the numbers up to 20 in kindergarten. Today, Bartuch is digging the things he's learning in classes, including forensics.

On the field, Bartuch’s game has certainly progressed to where he’s a standout player and leader for the Knights.

Playing in the team’s fourth game in as many days on Monday, Bartuch and his teammates were fatigued against a Plainfield Central team that hadn’t played in the past five days. Bartuch ended up making the play of the game, receiving the entry on a corner kick and sending it into the net for the game-winner with just over seven minutes remaining to play.

The Knights hope Bartuch can continue to make similar big plays this fall. He's all for that and hopes to continue his playing career at the college level.
