Over 600 Without Power In New Lenox

As of 2 p.m., 275 in New Lenox and 388 in New Lenox Township are without power.

NEW LENOX, IL — Over 600 ComEd customers are without power after severe storms passed through New Lenox on Thursday afternoon. As of 2 p.m., 275 in New Lenox and 388 in New Lenox Township are without power.

According to the ComEd power outage map, crews have been sent out to the area and an estimated restoration time is 3:15 p.m.

The severe storm also knocked down a tree on Cedar Road, which caused a power outage affecting parts of the Silver Cross Hospital campus. The hospital said all vital systems or their back-ups are functioning and there has been no significant disruption to patient care.

Storms are expected to redevelop Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service. These thunderstorms are expected to have a scattered severe hail and wind threat.
