PHOTOS: Andy Grammer Delights Thousands With 'Big Stupid Heart' Tour In New Lenox

NEW LENOX, IL — It was a show a year in the making—with many fearing it would be called off again after a week of severe weather and potentially more lingering—but Andy Grammer and the Village made it happen.

A year after rain forced the cancelation of his previously scheduled New Lenox show, Grammer burst onto stage at the Performing Arts Pavilion Saturday night, playing to a crowd of thousands for the next show in the town's Summer Concert Series. The crowd spilled out onto Veterans Parkway—with seats lining open sidewalks, too—for the singer's "The Big Stupid Heart Tour. The Village sold more than 3,000 tickets for the show, Mayor Tim Baldermann told Patch.

Raynes and Walk Off The Earth opened, setting the tone for a family-friendly night of music. Canada-based Walk Off The Earth joins Grammer on his tour stops this year. The four-member band is known for its viral YouTube covers, inventive music videos, and clever multi-instrument looping. Their music spans pop, rock, reggae, and children’s music projects.

An all-ages crowd lined the barricade and packed the lawn, dancing along with Walk The Earth and touting handmade signs for Grammer, who's known for his upbeat, emotional, and optimistic pop anthems.

Grammer delivered on all his hits and shared some new music, with the setlist including (to name a few): Big Stupid Heart, Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah), Best of You, Who's Saving Who, Honey, I'm Good, Saved My Life, Fine By Me, and Keep Your Head Up.
