POLL: With Lower Gas Prices, Will You Buy in New Lenox?
Mayor Tim Baldermann called for a gas boycott back in April, and since then prices here have been more competitive with neighboring towns. As the prices continue to drop, are you buying locally?

After New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann , residents applauded the move and took their business elsewhere—if they weren't already buying fuel in other towns.
But now that gas prices are dropping and could even reach sub-$3 levels this year, have you changed your buying habits? Tell us in the poll below.

Another 28 percent of voters said they bought gas in New Lenox but would start buying elsewhere when the mayor called for a boycott.
But as of Thursday, June 28, GasBuddy.com listed all seven New Lenox gas stations' prices at $3.51/gallon for unleaded fuel.

At the start of the month, prices were closer to $3.80/gallon. On April 23, when Baldermann called for a boycott of New Lenox gas stations, prices for unleaded fuel here were $4.20/gallon. Area stations were anywhere from $3.89/gallon to $4.14/gallon.
Now, New Lenox's prices are typically on par with those in Frankfort and Mokena but slightly higher than Homer Glen and Manhattan.
According to The Huffington Post, the gas prices could continue dropping this fall—even as low as $3/gallon or more.

- Frankfort: Ranges from $3.51 to $3.54.
- Homer Glen: Ranges from $3.45 to $3.47.
- Joliet: Ranges from $3.28 to $3.59.
- Manhattan: Ranges from $3.39 to $3.44.
- Mokena: Ranges from $3.52 to $3.54.
