Protest Planned Against Anti-Gay Group

The Illinois Family Institute (IFI), for years a pivotal organizer against equal rights for LGBT people, is holding a "Fun Run/Walk" fundraiser in Joliet on September 14th, 2013.

Due to their repeated lies about gays, the IFI has been labeled a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

So with their Sept. 14th "Fun Run/Walk," the IFI is now trying to soften their image as a bigoted group that promotes hate and discrimination, even though they vociferously have opposed every measure that would ensure equal access to employment, housing, public accommodations, and yes, marriage.

As we go into the Fall Veto Session of the Illinois legislature with another chance to pass equal marriage rights in Illinois, we cannot let haters like the IFI haters pass themselves off as "just another charity" like the March of Dimes, American Cancer Society or the like.

Please come out Sept. 14 and join our counter-protest against the IFI and in favor of equal rights.

We are asking people to be there by 7:30am which is 30 minutes before the IFI starts their first race.

For information about the event, please email Alex R Forgue at alexforgue.mchs@gmail.com . The specific location of the protest will at Hadley Valley Forest Preserve in New Lenox.
