Providence Football Advances To Quarterfinals Of IHSA Playoffs

NEW LENOX, IL — Providence Catholic High School has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class 6A IHSA football playoffs. Last week, in the second round of playoffs, Providence defeated Crete-Monee 61-37.

In the quarterfinals, the team, which is 8-3, will face Glenwood, which is 11-0. The game will be played in New Lenox at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.

The Celtics are the No. 11 seed, while Glenwood is seeded No. 2. The winner of this week's game will play the winner of Richards and East St. Louis in the semifinals.

The final score of the game: Providence Catholic - 16 Glenwood -40

The state championship game will be played in DeKalb at Northern Illinois University Nov. 30.
