Providence Football Advances To Second Round Of IHSA Playoffs

NEW LENOX, IL — Providence Catholic High School has advanced to the second round of the Class 6A IHSA football playoffs. In the first round, Providence defeated Normal Community West High School 19-14.
In the second round, the team, which is 7-3, will face Crete-Monee, which is 10-0. The game will be played in New Lenox at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
The Celtics are the No. 11 seed, while Crete Monee is seeded No. 3. The winner of this week's game will play the winner of Glenwood and Lemont High School.

FINAL SCORE: Providence - 61 , Crete-Monee - 37
The state championship game will be played in DeKalb at Northern Illinois University Nov. 30.
