Providence Names 2017 Valedictorian, Salutatorians
Providence Catholic High School has announced its top students in the Class of 2017.

NEW LENOX, IL - Providence Catholic High School has revealed its valedictorian and salutatorians for the class of 2017.
Samantha Dorning, of Orland Park, is the valedictorian while co-salutatorians are Meghan Howat of Plainfield and Michael Massaro of Homer Glen, according to a news release from the school.
Dorning, a graduate of Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School in Orland Hills, will study political science and business at Boston University. In addition to numerous academic accolades, she has been a member of the PCHS soccer and track teams and has played ice hockey for 12 years outside of school.

Howat, a graduate of St. Mary Immaculate School, will attend the University of Notre Dame on the Notre Dame Provost Scholarship and University Scholarship and will study pre-health and poverty studies. She has been a captain for the Celtics' cross country team and a member of the soccer team.
Massaro, who went to Oak Prairie Junior High in Homer Glen, will either join Howat at Notre Dame or enroll at Hillsdale College on cademic and athletic scholarships. He is a baseball and hockey player for the Celtics, winning the Kennedy Cup four times and appearing in one baseball state championship.

"We are very proud of these academically gifted students who are very strong leaders among their peers both in and out of the classroom. We know they have very bright futures," Providence Principal Dr. John Harper said.
