Reduced Lanes Coming in Joliet, New Lenox Township

Work is scheduled to begin Aug. 10 and should be completed by Oct. 30.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that lanes will be reduced on Maple Street (U.S. 6) between Porter Street and Spring Creek Street in Joliet/New Lenox Township for patching and resurfacing work beginning, weather permitting, Monday, August 10.

In order to complete the work, traffic will be reduced to one-way at various locations along Maple Street. Motorists can expect daily lane closures with flaggers at various locations once construction begins. The project is anticipated to be completed by October 30.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
