Reopening Task Force Developing Plan For Fall: Lincoln-Way D210
Superintendent R. Scott Tingley said the reopening task force is reviewing guidelines from the state and continues to develop a plan.
NEW LENOX, IL — In a post to Lincoln-Way families on Facebook, Lincoln-Way District 210 superintendent R. Scott Tingley discussed the district's next steps in making a reopening plan.
On June 23, the Illinois State Board of Education released its "Starting the 2020-2021 school year part 3 - transition joint guidance," which gives guidelines for returning to in-person instruction in the fall.
"The Lincoln-Way reopening task force committee will take the next few weeks to review these updated guidelines and continue to develop the plan to educate students in a safe and productive environment," Tingley said.

Part of the plan will also include remediation to make sure students are prepared to reach the goals of this year's courses. Tingley said the remediation plan is already complete and "will take effect at the appropriate place and time in the 2020-21 school year per course group/department determination."
The guidelines from the state board of education also require school districts to adopt a remote learning plan. Lincoln-Way D210 approved its remote learning plan in March, and Tingley said the plan will continue to be modified.

"Our focus remains on the health and safety of our students while providing a productive and engaging learning environment. We will communicate to families as plans are finalized, and we move towards the return to school this fall," Tingley said.
