Joliet Man Faces Vehicle Forfeiture In New Lenox

Dwayne O. Little's troubles began when he was pulled over in New Lenox.

NEW LENOX, IL - The automobile is one of a person's most prized possessions but a 65-year-old Joliet man now faces the prospect of having his Chevrolet Blazer become a forfeited asset. The Office of Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow has notified Will County's judicial system that it wants the 1992 Chevy Blazer belonging to Dwayne O. Little to be declared as a forfeited asset. The case is set for August 8.

On May 13, New Lenox Police Officer Matthew Shanahan spotted Little behind the wheel of a silver Chevrolet Silverado at Route 30 and Interstate 80. "A LEADS inquiry indicated that the registered owner, Dwayne Little, held a revoked Illinois driver's license. Officer Shanahan then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle," the complaint reads.

Shanahan approached the Blazer and Little was behind the wheel. He was not supposed to be there. The complaint states that the New Lenox officer "identified the driver ... via his Illinois identification card. Dispatch verified Little's revoked driver's license status which time Little was taken into custody and transported to the New Lenox Police Department," the complaint notes.
