Woman Dies As Car Becomes Submerged In Flooded Ditch In Will Co.

PEOTONE, IL — A 52-year-old Bourbonnais woman was killed early Tuesday after her vehicle left the roadway and rolled into a ditch near Peotone, state police said. The submerged vehicle, a 2007 Toyota Yaris, was found at around 5:19 a.m. near Route 45 and Barr Road in Will County.

State police said the driver, 52-year-old Stephanie Miller, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
