Joliet: NorthPoint Meeting Details Announced
The NorthPoint Development project has generated a lot of opposition from residents in the Manhattan and Elwood areas.

JOLIET, IL — A special meeting of the Joliet City Council will take place at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 13 involving NorthPoint Development's proposal to annex nearly 1,300 acres into the city of Joliet to construct its sprawling Compass Business Park.
Monday's special meeting will take place inside the Joliet City Hall Council Chambers. The resolution before the council calls for approving and authorizing a pre-annexation agreement for 1,260 acres with East Gate Logistics Park Chicago.
According to the city of Joliet, in-person public speaking at council meetings is temporarily suspended because of the new coronavirus outbreak restrictions placed on businesses, local government and public facilities that prohibit gatherings of large groups of people.

Citing the current state of emergency for Illinois, the city of Joliet has adopted new rules and regulations regarding public comments and attendance at city council meetings.
People are still being allowed to comment on issues, but in order to do so, they are being asked to submit their comments in writing or they will be allowed to call into the meeting. The new temporary rules for Joliet are outlined in detail on the city's website here.
