Scouts BSA Troop 492 Looks To Recruit New Members

The troop, which is for girls ages 11-17, started last March and is linked with Scouts BSA Boy Troop 49.

NEW LENOX, IL — Scouts BSA Troop 492 is looking for new members. The troop, which is for girls ages 11-17, started last March and is linked with Scouts BSA Boy Troop 49.

Group leaders said the troop meets Mondays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Harry E. Anderson VFW. The troop is led by Scoutmaster Josie Mueller and Assistant Scoutmaster Robert Mueller, who is an Eagle Scout from Troop 49.

Within its first year, troop leaders said the girls have already enjoyed fishing trips, merit badge classes, summer camps, campfires and cookouts, and numerous service activities.

The group said it is looking for more members to join the troop, whether they grew up with a scouting family or are newcomers.
