Senior Citizen Loses $242,000 In Fraud Incident: New Lenox Police
The woman told police a bank representative called to alert her to the large transfer.
NEW LENOX, IL — A New Lenox woman told police that more than $200,000 had been fraudulently removed from her bank account, according to New Lenox police reports.
Police were called to the woman's home Monday, for a report of fraud. The woman—who is a senior citizen—told police she had received a phone call from an employee of their bank who advised a large sum of money was removed from her account.
The woman later found $242,000 was missing, police said.
