Severe Weather to Blame for Power Outages in New Lenox
Over 400 ComEd customers were without power Monday due to winter storms.

A nasty mix of freezing rain and wind is contributing to power outages in New Lenox Monday.
ComEd crews were responding to reports of power outages throughout the Chicago area. Most towns in the area reported small pockets of outages while others have been harder hit. In New Lenox, over 400 ComEd customers were without power Monday afternoon, according to ComEd’s map. ComEd predicted the power would be restored by 11 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning through 6 p.m. tonight. Freezing rain is expected through this afternoon before eventually slowing to rain, according to the National Weather Service.
Wind gusts as high as 50 mph could result in a heightened risk for power outages wherever ice has accumulated on power lines and tree limbs. A high wind warning is in effect until 7 p.m.
