Sexual Solicitation Charges Filed In New Lenox

A warrant is out for the defendant's felony arrest.

NEW LENOX, IL - New Lenox Police are trying to find a 26-year-old man from out of town who is wanted in connection with felony charges of solicitation of a sexual act. Detectives say Ethan H. Mayer tried to lure a 15-year-old girl for sex between May 1 and June 30.

A criminal complaint was filed against Mayer on July 25 at the Will County Courthouse and a bench warrant was issued for his capture. The complaint alleges that Mayer "knowingly offered a person .... under the age of 18, any money property, token, object or article of anything of value ... for the purpose of sexual arousal or gratification."

Mayer had been communicating with the New Lenox juvenile over a period of several weeks, and the girl's parents subsequently notified the police after they became aware of the sexually explicit content on their daughter's phone, according to police.
