Shameful Behavior at New Lenox Proud American Days: Police

The cops thwarted a thieving Dekalb man's mischief at Proud American Days, police said.

A dastardly DeKalb man stole a cell phone from a fair-goer at New Lenox Proud American Days, police said.

James Dunn, 31, of 1236 Pleasant St. was charged with theft in connection with the alleged July 27 villainy.

An officer was “dispatched to the Proud American Days reference a complaint of a theft” shortly after 9 p.m., police said.

“The complainant advised that his cell phone was missing and he suspected Dunn stole it,” police said. “The officer located the cell phone in Dunn’s possession. “

Dunn was released after posting bond.
